I have played hockey since I was 10 years old and lived in Raleigh, NC. I started playing field hockey at UNC with their club Carolina All Stars Field Hockey. I had the opportunity to be coached by the UNC players, and which some are now current members of the US National team. When we still lived in NC, we frequently went and watched UNC Field Hockey and Wake Forest University games and it inspired me to see what I could achieve as I get older. When my family moved to California, I started training in middle school and developed my fundamentals with USAFH Futures program! I was fortunate enough to be a NFC selection in 2019. One of my favorite field hockey sayings is, “You defend from the front and attack from the back” -UNC

I have an identical twin sister named Cameron! My mom, Jenny and dad, Conor, adopted us from Hanoi, Vietnam when we were young. My family is from all over the world! My dad is from Ireland, Cam and I from Vietnam and my mom, the American, is from Connecticut. I have many relatives scattered around America, Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand.

Why do I play hockey: I play hockey because some of the main components are finesse and field hockey IQ. When I was younger I tried all kinds of sports such as, dancing, tennis, skating, golf, soccer. I always wanted to play a sport in high school and possibly college, so when a family friend who played DII field hockey said I should try it out, we did. I immediately fell in love with the sport and was inspired by the level the UNC field hockey athletes competed at. I have met so many friends and coaches through club and futures/nexus. Hockey has given me stronger work habits and taught me how important it is to have connections and be willing to meet new people. Some of my favorite family friends play DII hockey and it's so much fun to watch them and aspire to be like them! I'm competitive and love to win! However, I have learned that team environment and having a good connection with your teammates and coach is one of the most important aspects in almost all levels of field hockey. I’ve learned that I have grown the most as a field hockey player from the losses against very strong and talented teams.

Favorite Subject: Science

Hobbies: Video Games, Surf Team, Words with friends with my Nana in Canada online, Spending time with my family at the beach, spending time with my friends.

Volunteering: Tierrasanta Kindness crew. My friends and I do fundraisers: washing cars and lemonade stands to raise money for crafts for a CareHouse for Kids/a 3rd grade classroom.

I also help with HTC’s middle school program. It’s one of my favorite things to do. I enjoy helping grow the game in CA and helping out the little ones.
